Four flags, not yes or no

Most recalls cover specific lot codes, not every package ever made. A yes/no answer would be wrong, so Food Flagger gives you four.

  • RecalledThis barcode is in an active recall. Don’t eat it.
  • Check your packageIn a recall, but only certain lot codes. We show you which.
  • Possible matchSame brand has a recall on a different product.
  • No known recallNothing matched — which is not the same as “safe”.

Where the data comes from

  • FDA enforcement reports — packaged food, produce, supplements
  • FDA recall announcements — the fastest source, often days ahead
  • USDA FSIS — meat, poultry and egg products

Refreshed daily. Food Flagger is independent and not affiliated with the FDA, USDA, or any retailer.

What it can’t tell you

  • “No known recall” means nothing matched — never that food is certified safe.
  • USDA recalls rarely publish a barcode, so scanning won’t catch meat and poultry. Search does.
  • Recall data lags reality. A product can be recalled before it appears here.
  • US recalls only.
